Red Spikenard (Nardastachus jatamansi), is an anointing Biblical oil, now used to help reduce symptoms of tension. Spikenard has been used in skincare to refresh mature skin, religious ceremonies and in perfumes. It is one of the rarest and oldest essential oils. It grows in the far East and is a member of the honeysuckle family.
In perfumes, it has a resinous earthy aroma with woody and green overtones.
Combine it with Vetiver, Frankincense, Palmarosa and Rosewood.
